Grange View

Grange View is a low-density development of houses and flats on a commercial site in the middle of the 'large village' of Henlow.

lt provides a classic layout of wide frontage dwellings. Discreet parking is situated at the rear of the dwellings. By carefully limiting the building footprint, generous back gardens are created. The dwellings have planted front gardens and there is a communal square. These help provide an environment that sits comfortably within this conservation area.

The developer, Bryant Homes, use 'semi-bespoke' standard plans. These react to the requirements of different locations and customers. The three, four and five bedroom houses, and flats, are all designed to the same standard. Of the 61 dwellings, 12 are affordable. Plans are generous, with large rooms throughout.

The elevational treatments are carefully detailed to relate to existing housing. The scheme is enlivened by the quality and variety of materials, the differing eaves and the variation in building heights. There are porches, bay windows, chimneys and railings, which add interest to the scheme.
